Margaret Brooks

Margaret A. 'Margie' Brooks 82 of Windber, PA and formerly of Glasgow, died Monday, July 22, 2013 in Windber, PA. She was the daughter of the late John and Margaret Lynch Joyce. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Richard Brooks, a sister Mary Naylor, and a brother James Joyce. Margaret worked as a nurse at Maryland State Hospital, owner and operator of Sonora Truck Stop in Sonora, KY and was the owner of Abe's Market in Hodgenville, KY. She is survived by her son Bryan George Moffit of Utah, step-sons Rick Brooks of Alabama and Randy Brooks of Kentucky; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; 3 sisters Bernice (Turp) Mihalcik of New York, Pat Joyce of Ohio and Sandra Tallyen (Michael) with whom she resided in Windber, PA; several nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law Mary Lou Joyce Smith of Ohio; brothers-in-law Jack Benko of Ohio, Donald (Carol) Brooks, Bill (Mary Sue) Brooks, Rondal (Maxine) Brooks and Terry Brooks all of Kentucky and her dog Tika who was her constant companion and protector. Funeral mass will be held 10:30am Saturday, July 27th, 2013 at St. Helen Catholic Church with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home Friday from 4pm until 8pm. A prayer vigil will be held at 7pm Friday evening at the funeral home.
