Margaret Richards Johnston 89 of Glasgow died Wednesday January 16, 2008 at the NHC Health Care facility in Glasgow. She was born in Louisville, KY the daughter of the late Dr. Clifton and Georgia Williams Richards. She was a graduate of Ward-Belmont College in Nashville, TN and after college gave private lessons in Expression to the young people in Glasgow. She started with 90 students and produced several plays or productions with her students. Later she lived in Michigan where she was active with the Junior League there. She was a member of the Glasgow Baptist Church and the Edmund Rogers Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She is survived by three daughters, M. Sharon Johnston Ellsworth of Wilkes-Barre, PA, Catherine Johnston of Portage, MI and Sarah Johnston Hecker and husband Craig of Grand Rapids MI; a brother Joseph W. Richards and wife Martha of Chattanooga, TN, three grandchildren David Ellsworth (Leticia) of Tampa, FL, William Ferguson Hecker of Grand Rapids, MI and Elizabeth Johnston Hecker of Chicago, IL; 2 great-grandchildren Samuel and Talisa Ellsworth of Tampa, FL and a niece and nephew Amanda and Bill Richards of Chattanooga, TN. She was preceded in death by a brother John Richards and a sister Doris Richards Follis. She was, and her family are, extremely grateful for the kindness and support of her caregivers, Louise Blair and Misty Jackson, her doctor, Dr. David German, and the staff at NHC especially Tina Buford. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Sunday January 20, 2008 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 12:00pm until time for the service.
