Margaret "Maggie" Marie Brown

Margaret "Maggie" Marie Brown, 87, of Glasgow, Kentucky passed away Thursday, January 12, 2023, at Signature Healthcare of Glasgow. She was born May 3, 1935, in Kino, Kentucky to the late Jack Norris and Aline Glass Norris. Maggie started her career as a secretary for Blue Cross Blue Shield and ended her career there in professional relations where she negotiated contracts with physicians. She served as president of the Executive Women of Kentucky Association. Maggie was a member of Glasgow Cumberland Presbyterian Church and when she lived in Louisville, she was an active member of Highview Baptist Church. She and her late husband, Okley, whom she was married to for 46 years, led a variety of classes in churches during their lifetime together. Survivors include her son, Donny Downing; three stepsons, Doug Brown (Dorothy), Rick Brown, and Matt Brown (Heather); nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one sister, Doris Wells; one brother, Freddie Norris (Loretta); and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her high school sweetheart, Okley Brown; one sister, Gladys "Jenny" Craig; and one brother-in-law, Tommy Wells. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Glasgow Cumberland Presbyterian Church Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. The funeral service for Mrs. Brown will be held 2:00 PM Monday, January 16th at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday morning from 10:00 AM until time for the service at the funeral home. A. F. Crow & Son is honored to be entrusted in the care of Mrs. Brown.
