Martha Jewell Harris, 64, a resident of Glasgow for 43 years, died Sunday January 11, 2004 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, KY. She was born in Whitley County, KY the daughter of the late A.C. and Grace Kidd Parks. Mrs. Harris was a homemaker and was actively involved with the Columbia Ave. Church of Christ, Republican Women's Club and Ladies Golf Assn. Glasgow Country Club. She had shown great faith and courage in her battle with cancer and was an inspiration to so many with her smiling face, positive attitude and her belief in God. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Jerry Lee Harris; 2 sons Mike Harris and wife Kathy, Greg Harris and wife Laura; six grandchildren Meagan, Laura Beth, Michael, Steely, Henry, and Hadley Harris all of Glasgow; four sisters Becky Leick, Cathy Jones and Maxine Eckert all of Corbin, KY and a twin sister Mary Caroll Smith of West Chester, OH. In addition to her parents, a son Barry Keith Harris, two brothers Carl and Walter Parks and a sister Ruth Hubner preceded her in death. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Tuesday January 13, 2004 at the Columbia Ave. Church of Christ with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4pm Monday at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home and after 10am Tuesday at the Columbia Ave. Church of Christ until time for services. The family requests alternate expressions of sympathy to take the form of memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or the Columbia Ave. Church of Christ Building Fund, P.O.
