Martin M. King, 98, of Caneyville, passed away Tuesday, May 5th, 2015 at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center. He was born on June 18th, 1916 in Grayson County, the son of the late Perry and Cora Ella (Embry) King. He was a Deacon of the Caneyville Christian Church and had perfect Sunday School attendance for 53 years. Martin loved to bowl and enjoyed working in the garden. He is survived by his three sons, Ralph King (Donna) of Caneyville, Billy King (Nancy) of Summitt and Earl King (Debbie) of Leitchfield; three daughters, Shirley Stevenson (Glefus) of Leitchfield, Doris Elder (James) of Georgia and Anna Whitaker (Ricky) of Leitchfield; seven grandchildren, Marty Elder (Beth), Toby King (Lisa), Glen Stevenson (Angela), Shannon Stevenson (Tiffany), Dennis Whitaker (Jeannie), Savannah York (Chad) and Ellysa Henning (Ed) and eighteen great-grandchildren. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Lorene (Tomes) King; one son, Jimmy Dale King; two brothers, William and Robert King; three sisters, Minnie King, Fannie King and Pallie Johnson and one great-great-grandson.Funeral services will be Friday, May 8th at 1:00 pm at the Caneyville Christian Church. Bro Michael Courtwright and Bro David Brown will be officiating. Burial will be in the Wilson Cemetery.Friends may call at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville Thursday after 1:00 pm and Friday from 9:00 am until 11:00 am and at the Caneyville Christian Church from 11:30 am until the time of service.
