Mary Akers

Mary Akers 83 of Haywood died Saturday December 22, 2012 at her residence. She was born in Barren County the daughter of the late Willie Wood and the late Allie Wheeler Wood. Mrs. Akers was a homemaker and member of the Dry Fork Church of Christ. Survivors include 1 son Henry Clifton Akers (Martha) of Haywood; 4 daughters Joyce Crumpton of Haywood, Faye Houchens (William Earl) of Glasgow, Nell Akers and Hope Akers both of Haywood; 5 grandchildren Cynthia Spillman of Glasgow, Adam Akers (Mary) of Bowling Green, Joe Akers (Lora) of Louisville, Cliff Akers (Amy) of Elizabethtown and Sarah Crumpton (Brandon Drury) of Haywood; 8 great grandchildren Ashley Lewis (Ro) of Bowling Green, Grayson Akers of Bowling Green, Kassidi & Molly Akers of Haywood, Rhaygen Scott of Glasgow, Salyssa & Conner Crumpton of Haywood and Maleigha Drury of Haywood; 2 great great grandchildren Rodaisha Lewis & Jaquaizion Lewis of Bowling Green. Several Nieces & Nephews also survive. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Henry Odell Akers; 1 brother Milzie Wood; 7 sisters Vera Wilson, Marie Key, Jewell Mizell, Nellie Moore, Zelma Medley, Lucille Key and Dona B. Wood. Funeral service will be 2:00pm Thursday December 27, 2012 at the A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be after 1:00pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
