Mary Franks

Mary Vern Franks, 71, of Caneyville, passed away Monday, September 12th, 2016 at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center. She was born on Wednesday, July 4th, 1945 in Ohio County, the daughter of the late Henry Sr and Ethel (Cotton) Autry. Mary was baptized at the Fairview Baptist Church in Ohio County. She enjoyed sewing, reading, and gardening. She also loved tending to her home and caring for her family. Mary is survived by her loving husband of more than 49 years, Sanford Franks; one son, Steve Franks of Caneyville; one daughter, Sherry (Franks) Mayhugh of Leitchfield; one grandson, Aaron Franks (Olivia) of Caneyville; one brother, Joe Ben Autry (Frances) of Owensboro; one sister, Marie Watkins of Leitchfield and several nieces and nephews. Other than her parents, Mary is preceded in death by four brothers, Henry Autry Jr, Joy Bill Autry, Jerry Ben Autry and Bobby Robert Autry and two sisters, Doris (Autry) Smith and Tempy (Autry) Hicks.Funeral services will be Friday, September 16th at 1:00 pm at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville. Bro Marty Cruze and Bro Jimmy Dockery will be officiating. Burial will be in the Layman Memorial Cemetery.Friends may call at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville Thursday after 3:00 pm and Friday from 9:00 am until time of service.
