Mary Hanking

Mary Lois Thompson Coomes, 79, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012. Lois' life was filled with her kids, quilting, fishing, gardening, working puzzles and a strong passion for the Texas Rangers. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles U. and Mary E. Thompson; one sister; and three brothers. Survivors include her daughters, Barbara (Carl) Bell and Sheila (John) Slatter; sons Kenny (Sherry) Coomes, Bruce (Mindy) Coomes, Jeff (Teresa) Coomes and Curtis (Alicia) Coomes; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; eight sisters; one brother; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be held at noon on Monday at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 261 St. Anthony Road, Browns Valley. Visitation is after 10 a.m. Monday at the church. Interment is in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery. Haley-McGinnis and Owensboro Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
