Mary Hawks

Mary Frances Hawks 86 of Glasgow died Sunday August 5, 2007 at the NHC Healthcare Facility in Glasgow. She was born in Barren County the daughter of the late Joe Renick Wooten and Effie Sears Wooten. Mrs. Hawks was a retired Barren County School Teacher and spent most of her teaching career at the Red Cross Elementary School. She was a member of the Hanging Fork Baptist Church at Finney. She is survived by a daughter Sarah Vincent and husband Steve of Glasgow; a son James Alton Hawks and wife Ruthene of Glasgow; 4 grandchildren Rachel Sundy Thomas and husband Ken, Lonnie Vincent and wife Terra, Jody Hawks and wife Katie, and Russell Hawks and Fiancee Amy Acree; 2 great grandchildren Mariah and Colton Thomas; a sister Maxey Hawks of Whiteland, IN; 2 brothers James Wooten of Whiteland, IN and Billy Joe Moore of Glasgow and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband William Alton Hawks and a grandson Jake Hawks. Funeral services will be 10:00am Wednesday August 8, 2007 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Henderson Cemetery at Finney. Visitation will be after 3:00pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
