Mary "Louise" Furlong

Mary "Louise" Furlong, 95, of Glasgow, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at the Barren County Nursing and Rehab Facility. She was born April 3, 1927 in Glasgow, Kentucky to the late Robert "Bob" Story and Myrtle Witty Story. Louise was a homemaker and was a graduate of Hiseville High School. She was a longtime member of New Salem Methodist Church and served as Church Treasurer for over 40 years. Survivors include her grandson, Andy Howell (Erin); granddaughter, Mary Travis Howell; three great grandsons, Tyson, Kane, and Jaxson Howell; six nephews, Wallace Nunnally (Dixie), Robert Read, Shannon Read, Gerard, Phillip, and Mark (Karen) Johnson; three nieces, Cindy Read, Teresa Johnson, Gail Bunch (Donnie); and one sister-in-law, Bernadene Furlong Johnson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Travis Milton Furlong; one daughter, Lucinda "Cindy" F. Gilles; one sister, Frances Read; one nephew, Richard Read; and one niece, Leona Smith. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the New Salem Cemetery. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. The funeral service for Mrs. Furlong will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 30th at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the New Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday afternoon from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM and on Tuesday morning until time for the service at the funeral home.
