Mary Mitchell

Mary Elizabeth Mitchell 80 of Glasgow died Saturday July 25, 2009 at the Medical Center at Bowling Green. She was born in Barren County, KY the daughter of the late William Claude Stovall, Sr. and Hallie Mae Scivener Stovall. Mary was retired from the Glasgow Police Dept. where she spent many years as a meter maid and directing traffic at area schools. She was also a seamstress and was a member of the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church at Haywood. She is survived by a daughter, Maria Mitchell of Glasgow; a son, William Tyrone Mitchell of Glasgow; 2 grandchildren Arien Mitchell Marvin and Denzel Wood; 1 brother George 'Jack' Stovall of Louisville; 4 sisters Rosaline Letlon of Forest Park, OH, Josephine Grainger and Jean Mansfield of Glasgow and Jane Hayes of Haywood. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son Kevin M. Mitchell; 3 sisters Maggie Webb, Joyce Franklin and Oral Lee Stovall and a brother William Claude Stovall, Jr. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM on Tuesday July 28, 2009 at the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church with burial in the Oak Grove Church Cemetery. Visitation will be at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home on Monday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and at the church Tuesday from 10:00 am until time for the service.
