Mary Niehaus

Mary Angela Niehaus, 84, of Cincinnati, Ohio peacefully entered eternal life June 22, 2019 at the Carmel Home in Owensboro, Kentucky surrounded by her sisters, Sister M. Bernadette (Niehaus) and Sr. M. Andrea (Niehaus) and other Carmelite Sisters of the Carmel Home. Mary was born June 1, 1935 to late Joseph A. and Marie (Naegele) Niehaus. She is survived by her brother, Robert F. Niehaus and sisters Dorothy (Walter) Volz; Irene (Clem) Wegman; Sr. M. Bernadette and Sr. M. Andrea, Carmelite, Sisters, D.C.J. missioned as the Carmel Home, Owensboro, Kentucky; nieces: Linda (Nick) Lein, Rita Volz; nephews: Robert (Joan) Niehaus, James (Patricia) Niehaus, and her great great-niece, Gwendolyn Lein, She was a faithful member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parrish in Cincinnati where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, assisted in early morning communion services and led the Rosary before Holy Mass, the Sacraments, Rosary, and other devotions. Mary moved to the Carmel Home January, 2016 where she was no stranger, having attended their annual BBQ and bazaars for many years, and earned the friendship of residents and staff alike. She enjoyed EWTN TV also her western and mystery programs. The Funeral Mass will be 12:00 pm Thursday, June 27, 2019 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Cincinnati, Ohio. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may take the form of Holy Masses or contributions to Carmel Home; 2501 Old Hartford Road; Owensboro, Kentucky 42303. The family would like to give special thanks for the excellent, loving care and compassion shown to Mary while she lived under their devoted care at Carmel Home.
