Mary Rose Nuckols McCoy died, Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at her home. Mary Rose was born on September 8, 1933, the daughter of Wendell Mansfield Nuckols and Audrey Neal Nuckols. She leaves to cherish her memories two daughters; Karen (Duane) Rector of Smiths Grove and Janet (Johnny) Kinslow of Glasgow, a sister; Martha Neal (Graham) Cooke of Louisville and two special nieces; Barrett H. Cooke (Timothy Coulter) and children Odin and Stevie Anne Coulter of Los Angeles, CA and Elizabeth Neal Cooke (Josephine Mananandry) and children Lia and Horenge Mananandry of Louisville. From Learning to drive at 13 to having her license renewed at 84, she loved to be behind the wheel. She was an excellent driver! All you had to do was ask her. She embraced the joy of the open road, the same as she embraced the joy of everyday life, with welcome and genuine hospitality. She was a savvy bridge player, and accomplished cook, a true U of L fan, a wise confidant, a faithful Christian and most of all a devoted mother, sister, aunt and friend. The consummate Aunt Rosie! A lady with the most vibrant personality and giving heart, so without Mary Rose, our hearts are broken and our tears endless, but our memories and joys are immeasurable. As a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church in Glasgow, the family requests expressions of sympathy or memorials be directed to the church or to the Barren River Animal Welfare Association. A Celebration of Life service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, February 16th at First United Methodist Church with a gathering of family and friends to follow in the church fellowship center. Arrangements are under the direction of the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home.
