Mary Underwood

Mary Ruth Smith Underwood 87, died Friday, August 17, 2012 at the Barren County Health Care in Glasgow. She was born in Barren County September 21, 1924, the daughter of the late Marion and Mary Sherfey Crabtree. She was a retired employee of the Glasgow City School System and was a member of the Caney Fork Baptist Church at Etoile. The loving wife, mother and grandmother is survived by her husband Wendell; children Terry E. Smith (Lois) of Portland, TN, Janet R. Wilding (Richard) of Louisville and Linda Dickson (Rollin) of Glasgow; one sister Shelby J. Moses (George) of Lucas; 8 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and a lifetime of friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband of 47 years Clifton E. Smith; 3 brothers Charles, James and Bobby Crabtree; 2 sisters Helen Hunt and Jessie Hall and a grandson Stephen Craig Frank. Funeral services will be 11am Monday, August 20, 2012 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Poplar Log Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 11am until 8pm.
