Mattye Steenbergen

Mattye Jackson Steenbergen 92 of Lucas, KY died Tuesday January 13, 2009 at her son's home in Lucas. She was born in Lucas, KY the daughter of the late Frank and Ida Britt Jackson. Mrs. Steenbergen was a homemaker and was a former bookkeeper for Willoughby Office Supply, Bradford Hardware Co. and the Standard Farm Store in Glasgow. She was a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church and had more recently attended the Peter's Creek Baptist Church at Lucas. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Jesse Frank Steenbergen in July of last year; a brother Vernon Jackson, a sister Maudie Livesay, a grandson Eric Steenbergen and a sister-in-law Eula Steenbergen. Survivors include 2 sons Frank Steenbergen and wife Lorena of Lucas and Michael Steenbergen and wife Charlotte of Glasgow; 5 grandchildren Todd (Ann) Steenbergen and Julie (Brent) Smith of Glasgow, Dirk, Gerrit and Inga Steenbergen of Lucas and 3 great grandchildren Ashley and Spencer Steenbergen and Emma Kate Smith. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday Jan. 15, 2009 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Britt Cemetery at Lucas. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Thursday morning until time for the service.
