Maud Jewell Speck Harris 86 of Glasgow died Sunday, November 9, 2014 at the NHC Healthcare Facility in Glasgow. Born in Glasgow, she was the daughter of the late Clark and Sammie DuVal Speck and wife of the late Joseph Howard Harris. Maud was a 1946 graduate of Glasgow High School and was an employee and treasurer for First Federal Savings and Loan for 21 years. She was a member of the Glasgow Baptist Church and the Fidelis Sunday School Class. Survivors include two daughters, Bonita Downey of Ft. Myers, FL and Linda Armstrong and husband M.D. of Glasgow; one son Joe Harris and wife Sheila of Glasgow; grandchildren Amber Hatton of Glasgow, Brandi and Odail Lawson of Georgetown, KY, Ali and Markus Johnson of Eugene, OR and Aaron and Tiffany Armstrong of Glasgow; seven great grandchildren Tess, Maddey, Boone, Ann Kalyn, Sarah Elizabeth, Jacob and Lily; a sister-in-law Carolyn Speck of Conroe, TX and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Penn Harris, two brothers, Morris and Malcolm Speck and three sisters Marie Lyons Lyle, Katherine Lilge and Mildred Speck. Funeral services will be 11am Wednesday, November 12th at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 9am until time for the service. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Mary Wood Weldon Memorial Library in her memory.
