Maurice B. ('M.B.') Furlong died peacefully on February 15, 2015, he was 95 years old. Born in Barren County, he was the husband of the late Hilda Allen Furlong, and the son of the late E.E. and Opal Furlong. Mr. Furlong was a veteran of WWII, a life-long farmer and devoted member of Old Zion Methodist Church. He loved his family, his land, and tinkering with old tractors. He is survived by his three daughters: Jackie Hester of Smiths Grove, Janice Hume and husband David of Glasgow, Patty Kovach and husband Don of Brentwood Tennessee; six grandchildren: Billy, Bobby, Marty, Mike, and Jody Hester, and Scott Kovach; six great-grandchildren and three great- great- grandchildren; two sisters: Helen Kinslow and Nadine Brown, and numerous nephews and nieces. In addition to his loving wife and parents he was preceded in death by three brothers: Wayne, Emery, and David Furlong; his son-in-law Marvin Hester and two grand-children: Babbie and Joseph. His family wishes to express their sincerest gratitude on his behalf to Rachel, Scarlett, Bobby, Lisa, and Teresa for their loving care, and to Jim for his enduring friendship. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 24th at the A. F. Crow and Son Funeral Home. Burial with military honors provided by D.A.V. Chapter 20 of Glasgow will be in Old Zion cemetery. Visitation after 4:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
