Mavis Gabbard Marshall 90 of Glasgow died Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at NHC Healthcare in Glasgow. Born in Butler County, she was the daughter of the late Cleatus and Anna Raymer Gabbard. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Dr. Fred E. Marshall, Jr.; two sisters Doris Ragan and Dorothy Dobbs and a brother Clete Gabbard, Jr. Mrs. Marshall was a retired school teacher in the Glasgow School System teaching at Liberty Street and Bunch schools. She was an avid golfer and was a member of the Columbia Ave. Church of Christ. Survivors include her daughter Deborah Williams of Glasgow; 2 sons Fred E. Marshall III and wife Suzanne of Hopkinsville and James Edward 'Jimmy' Marshall of Glasgow; 3 grandchildren Todd Edward Marshall (Tina) of Hopkinsville, Anthony Edward Marshall of Tennessee and Erin Marshall Saltsman (Lorne) of Glasgow; 4 great-grandchildren and 3 sisters Daphna Gilbert (Butch) of Bowling Green, Sue Boring (Jerry) of Bowling Green and Joyce Siddens of Macon, GA. Funeral services will be 11am Saturday, November 8th at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5pm until 8pm at the funeral home and Saturday morning until time for the service.
