Max Marshall Hankins, 72, of Canmer, formerly of Glasgow, passed away peacefully Friday July 4, 2014 at his daughter's home. He was born Nov. 14, 1941 in Frankfort, Ind., the son of the late Hobart and Bessie Satterfield Hankins. He was saved as a young man at Bon Ayr Baptist Church and was a longtime member of Cedar Cross Missionary Baptist Church in Allen County. He was a retired mechanic and construction worker having worked for Gray Construction and Branscum Construction companies. Survivors include a daughter, Tammy Hankins Hensley( husband Aaron) of Canmer; a son, Max Hankins, II,(wife Jessie) of Highland, Illinois; Ten grandchildren, Blake, Sarah Faith, and Landen Hensley, of Canmer; and Brooklyn, Kali, and Max Hankins, III, of Glasgow, and Ledger and Lyeden Hankins of Highland, Illinois, Blaine Haberer & Jarron Haberer of Illinois; two brothers, Eugene Hankins of Cave City, and Jerry Hankins of Franklin; a sister Imogene Klaber of Frenchburg; his former wife and mother of his children Vicie Hankins of Glasgow; Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Jim, Bobby and Dale Hankins; and three sisters, Sue Palmore, Betty Jo Finley, and Evelyn Hankins. The funeral will be at 2:00pm Tuesday July 8, 2014 at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Bowles Cemetery. Visitation will be after 3:00pm Monday July 7, 2014 at the funeral home.
