Maybelle Steen

Maybelle Goodpaster Steen, 87 passed away Friday morning August 24th, 2007 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law Sara and Roy Merritt in Sellersburg, IN. Maybelle was born September 28, 1919. She was retired from civil service with the Social Security Administration and had previously been living with her son and daughter-in-law, Sam and Nanci Steen, in the Ozark Mountains, Arkansas. Maybelle was preceded in death by her husband, George Samuel Steen, Sr. of Barren County. She is survived by 4 children: Sam & wife Nanci Steen of Pelsor, Arkansas; John & wife Gayle Steen of Hiseville, Kentucky; Sara & husband Roy Merritt of Sellersburg, Indiana; and Susan O'Daniel of Louisville, Kentucky. Her Grandchildren include: John Steen, Adam Steen & wife Sarah Katherine, Les Steen & wife Tina, Sara Steen Ash & Husband Dewayne, Susan Steen Pace & husband Ryan, Tracy Burch, Lisa Burch Blocher, Michael Burch & wife Tracey, Sarah O'Daniel Fortuna & husband Jerry, Anthony O'Daniel, Katie O'Daniel Comeens and husband Adam. She has 13 Great-Grandchildren: Sarah Grace, Slane, Nora Cate, Leah Rose, Hannah, Emma, Audrey, Preston, Lexi, Abby, Haleigh, Elizabeth and Jerry III. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Monday August 27, 2007 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Hiseville Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00pm until 8:00pm and on Monday from 10:00am until time for services. Expressions of sympathy can be offered through contributions to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
