Mildred Mcguire

Elaine Meadows McGuire, June 24, 1934 to November 28, 2021. Daughter of the late Faunys D. Meadows and Mary Susan Pettit Meadows and married to the late Glen Eston McGuire on April 13, 1952. Survived by daughter, Kaye Davis; son, Mike McGuire (Renee); grandchildren, Travis McGuire (Brandie), Trace McGuire (Raleigh); brothers, James Stanley Meadows (Texas), Dean Meadows (Indiana); and sister, Shirley Greer (Glasgow). Also surviving are granddaughter-in-law Stacie Sewell, and great grandchildren, LeeAnna Bess Sewell Delbridge (Elias), Corbin McGuire, Brayden, Brylee, and Bryn Groce. She is also survived by several very special nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three grandsons, Christopher Chad, Nathan Lee, and Joshua Clay Sewell; and sons-in-law Leon Sewell and Walter Davis. Elaine's mother died after three years in a T.B. Sanitarium when Elaine was only 9 years old. She and Shirley were separated from their brothers and spent most of their difficult childhood in Indiana foster homes. After her marriage to Glen, she found bountiful love in the embrace of the entire McGuire clan and was especially close to her wonderful nieces. She lived many blessed years in a place appropriately named "Happy Hollow." She retired as a clerk in the Barren County Clerk's Office where she established many lifelong friendships with co-workers and the citizens of Barren County. She attended Bethel Independent Baptist Church. Elaine was a charter board member of Josh's Friends Inc. and weekly delivered birthday balloons to nursing home residents for several years. Graveside Services for Elaine McGuire will be at 1pm Saturday, Dec 4th, at the Caney Fork Cemetery in Etoile, KY. There will be a short visitation at the funeral home Saturday morning from 10am to 12pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shanti Niketan Hospice Home 1020 Glenview Drive Glasgow, KY 42141.
