Monroe Salyer 77 of Glasgow, KY and formally of Missouri, died Wednesday March 3, 2004 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Nashville, TN. He was born in Parma, MO the son of the late George and Hattie Setsebaugh Seets and was adopted by the late Joseph and Eva Salyer. Mr. Salyer was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Dardene, MO and attended St. Helen Catholic Church in Glasgow. He is survived by his wife Myla Hillin Salyer; 1 daughter Pam Carron and husband Mike of Glasgow, KY; 3 sons Kenneth Salyer of Glasgow, Michael Salyer and wife Sue of Pensacola, FL and Darren Salyer and wife Bonna of O'Fallon, MO; 6 grandchildren Jennifer (Ryan) Phillips and Rebecca Salyer both of Pensacola, FL, Amy (Greg) Cardwell of Jasper, TX, Kelly Carron Guzzardo of Glasgow, KY, Kristen Salyer and Adam Salyer of O'Fallon, MO; 3 great grandchildren Shelby and Holly Phillips of Pensacola, FL and Kendal Guzzardo of Glasgow, KY; 4 sisters Viola Pack of Independence, MO, Donah (Roger) Burgess of Nashville, TN, Mildred Rolf of Shelbina, MO and Wanda Radcliffe of Florida. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Three brothers, Otto Seets, Byron Salyer and W. J. Salyer and two sisters Ruby and Ruth Farmer preceded him in death. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am Saturday March 6, 2004 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by D.A.V. Chapter 20 of Glasgow. Visitation will be after 2pm Friday at the funeral home. Rosary services will be 7:00pm Friday at the funeral home.
