Murile L. Powell

Murile 'Jack' Powell 85 of Glasgow died Monday, December 23, 2013 at the Barren County Health Care Facility in Glasgow. Born in Allen County, he was the son of the late John and Lillie Hogue Powell. He was a farmer and a self-employed carpenter and was a member of the Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife Betty Elmore Powell; 1 son Stephen Powell and wife Brenda of Haywood; 2 daughters Yvonne 'Bonnie' Collins and husband Lee Royce of Glasgow and Tina Woodson and husband Brian of Glasgow; 3 grandchildren Stacey Headrick and husband Adam, Jared Anderson and fiance Danielle and Maggie Anderson; a great grandchild McKinlee Anderson; 2 step grandchildren Chris Hodge and wife Tracy and Kelly Hodge and 3 step great grandchildren Kayla, Joshua and Gabby. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 2 brothers John Powell Jr. and Harold D. Powell. Funeral services will be 11am Saturday, December 28th at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2pm Friday.
