Murphy Moran Demunbrun 80 of Glasgow, KY died Friday October 2, 2009 at T. J. Samson Community Hospital after a sudden illness. He was born in Edmonson County, KY the son of the late Truman H. Demunbrun and Blanche Skaggs Demunbrun of Glasgow who survives. Mr. Demunbrun was retired from the Goodyear Tire Company after 28 years. He was the former director fo the Glasgow Senior Citizens Center for 20 years and was a member of the Glasgow Baptist Church since 1965 where he served as a Deacon and Sunday school teacher and also a former member of the church choir. Murphy was a mason in the Edmonson County Masonic Lodge and former member of the Caveman Barbershop Chorus. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed travel. Survivors include his mother Blanche Demunbrun of Glasgow; his wife Lou Ellen Howard Demunbrun; 3 daughters Alexis Bowman (Kenny), Michelle Demunbrun and Charlotte Glass (Larry) all of Glasgow; 2 sons Murphy Demunbrun, Jr. (Lori) and Tim Demunbrun both of Glasgow; 10 grandchildren: Clay Stovall, Ann Phelps, Amy Durbin, Alex Bowman, Colleen Richardson, Hilliary Demunbrun, Hannah Demunbrun, and Dean, Connor and Nelson Glass, and 3 great-grandchildren: Rayne Stovall, Claudia Phelps and Noelle Durbin. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Weldon Demunbrun. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday October 5, 2009 at the Glasgow Baptist Church with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 12:00 noon until 8:00pm and on Monday at the funeral home from 8:00am until 10:00am before moving to the Glasgow Baptist Church from 11:00am until time for the service.
