Nina Ruth Britt Edwards, age 98, of Richmond, IN died Wednesday, October 8, 2014, at Sterling House of Richmond. Nina Ruth was born on July 27, 1916, in Temple Hill, Kentucky, to Dr. William T. and Dora Bertram Britt. She had lived in Glasgow and Owensboro, Kentucky; St. Louis, Missouri; Flora, Illinois; Jeffersonville, Indiana; Defiance, Ohio; Naples, Florida; and Richmond, Indiana. Nina Ruth was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Richmond. Survivors include her daughters, Helen Sue Shafer of Richmond, Susan Joy Smellie of Naples, Florida, and Linda (David) Polzin of Perrysburg, Ohio; grandchildren, Jim (Karen) Cashman, Michael (Judy) Smellie, Steph (Carol) Britt, Mary (John) Kuykendall, Kurt (Sheri) Polzin, and Amanda (Jim) Drohan; and great-grandchildren, James (Rachel) Cashman, Tori Cashman, Katherine Britt, Daniel and Joel Kuykendall, Allie and Regan Polzin, and Camdyn, Taigan, and Breckin Drohan. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Russell C. Edwards; parents; siblings, Lennie Britt, Addis (Elizabeth) Britt, Ena Grace (Howard) Hendricks and three infant brothers; granddaughter, Virginia Ann Cashman Hatcher; and sons-in-law, Robert Shafer and Rev. Larry Smellie. Visitation for Nina Ruth Britt Edwards will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, October 13, 2014, at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 14, 2014, at First United Methodist Church, 500 South Green Street, Glasgow. Burial will be in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery.
