Nora Virginia (Snoddy) Galloway, 101, died in her home Monday morning with family by her side. Mrs. Galloway was born in Wichita Falls, Texas on January 16, 1914. She was the daughter of the late Hurlan M. and Nora (Drake) Snoddy, who were native Kentuckians, but were living in Texas at that time. Her father was working there as a construction engineer and land surveyor. They returned to their native state in 1916 and settled on a farm at Merry Oaks in Barren County. Mrs. Galloway was a member of the South Green Street Church of Christ. She was a retired school teacher, having taught in the Barren County School System thirty-three years, and one and a half years in Hardin County. Mrs. Galloway is survived by one son; James M. (Jay) Galloway and his wife, Phyllis, of Shepherdsville; a daughter, Beverly Elliott and her husband, Rick, of Glasgow; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. Mrs. Galloway is preceded in death by her husband of sixty-six years, James W. Galloway; her parents; a brother, Adrian Snoddy; a son, Charles A. Galloway and daughter-in-law Frances S. Galloway; an infant son, Jerry W. Galloway; a grandson, Barry Galloway; and a great granddaughter, Cheyenne R. Lloyd. Friends and family will forever remember her for her Godliness, kind heart, and gentle spirit. Funeral services will be 4:00 P.M. Thursday, July 16th at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Hays Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 10:00 A. M. until time for the service.
