Obie Woosley

Obie Woosley Jr, 73, of Caneyville, passed away Friday, November 4, 2016 at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center. He was born on Wednesday, January 20, 1943 in Butler County, the son of the late Obie Woosley Sr. and Gertie Mae (Brooks) Woosley. He was a member of the Church of Christ faith and also a farmer. Obie is survived by his wife, Beverly Jean (Hatalla) Woosley of Caneyville; three daughters, Becky Jean Woosley and Betty Mudd both of Caneyville and Tina Strickland of Tennessee; two sons, Richard Wayne Woosley of Caneyville and Jerry Dale Hatalla of Edmonton; one brother Kenneth Eugene Woolsey of Louisville; 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, Jeffrey Dale Woosley; one brother, Earl Woosley and one sister, Mable Hayes.Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 9 at 1:00 pm at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville. Bro Mike Cannon will be officiating. Burial will be in the Hopewell Cemetery.Friends may call at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville Tuesday, November 8 after 2:00 pm and Wednesday from 9:00 am until time of service.
