Oliver Blanton

Oliver Wendell Blanton 82 of Okolona, KY died Saturday Feb. 10th at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service with 30 years of service; a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII; a member of American Legion Post No. 157; Amvets No. 61 and a member of the Community Church of Christ. His is survived by his wife Sarah 'Susie' Short Blanton; 5 daughters O. Diane Gentry (Bill) of Mt. Washington, KY, O. Ann Lafayette (Randall Dewey), Joan M. Bowes (Doug) and Susan Keel all of Lebanon, TN and Allison R. Mortiz (Ray) of Mt. Juliet, TN; 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Lillie Mae Scott Blanton; granddaughter Dawn Gentry Blandford; first wife Jodeene Wilson; second wife Betty Sue Farrar; sisters Evelyn Mitchell and Marian Craddock; and brothers Tillman and Richard Blanton. Funeral services will be 11:0am Wednesday at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Pleasant Home Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 12:00pm until 8:00pm.
