Orvel Houchens

Orvel T. Houchens 88 of Glasgow died Friday, March 26, 2004 at the Barren Co. Health Care Facility in Glasgow. Born in Barren Co. he was the son of the late Dwight & Bunie Alexander Houchens. Mr. Houchens was a Veteran of World War II serving in the U. S. Army and retired Greens Superintendent at the Glasgow Golf & Country Club. He was a member of the Beech Grove Baptist Church and D.A.V. Chapter #20 of Glasgow. Survivors include his wife Leona Bennett Houchens of Glasgow, 1 daughter Donna Hurt & husband Richard of Glasgow and 1 granddaughter Misty Nicole Hurt of Nashville, TN 1 step-granddaughter Shelia Childress and husband Chad, 1 step-great granddaughter Breanna Faith Childress. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a daughter Anita Carol Houchens, a brother Hazel Houchens and 2 sisters Nellie Stinnett & Earlene Cash. Funeral services will be held 1:00pm Monday, March 29, 2004 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be after 3:00pm Sunday at the funeral home.
