Brents Richardson 97 of Eighty Eight, KY died Friday, October 04, 2013 at NHC Healthcare in Glasgow. Brents was a son of the late Robert 'Bob' Richardson and Mary Branstetter Richardson. He was also preceded in death by his wife Rebecca Barbour Richardson and two brothers Paul and Ivan Richardson, and his sister Mildred Froedge. With his family, Brents owned and operated Eighty Eight General Store and Merchandise at Eighty Eight. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the 3rd Armor Division U.S. Army where he was awarded the Purple Heart Medal, 5 Bronze Stars for battles across Europe and the Knight of the Legion of Honor Medal by France. He served as a director with the Bank of Summer Shade and was a member of Beech Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He is survived by a brother Robert Richardson and wife Nina of Glasgow; nieces and nephews, Mary Ann Simmons (Rollin) of Glasgow, Donnie Sue Bacon (Joe Donald) of Eighty Eight, Bobby Richardson (Elaine) of Glasgow, Dan Richardson (Tina) of Munfordville and Linda Froedge Glass (Cecil) of Glasgow; 2 brothers-in-law Omar Barbour (Betty) and Robert Barbour (Loretta) both of Glasgow and 3 sisters-in-law Valeria Anderson of Caneyville, Opal Bowles (George) of Clarksville, IN. and Louise Forsythe of Morgantown. Funeral services will be 2pm Monday, October 7th at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Refuge Cemetery at Eighty Eight. Visitation will begin at 4:30pm Sunday.
