Oscar Cummings

Oscar Cummings, 68, of Caneyville, passed away Tuesday, November 4th, 2014 at his residence. He was born on August 1st, 1946 in Grayson County, the son of the late Enos and Donna Bell (Embry) Cummings. Oscar was a member of the Welches Creek General Baptist Church. He was a self-employed carpenter. Oscar is survived by his wife of 49 years, Reva Cummings; their daughter, Lisa Allen (Ted) of Caneyville; two brothers, Pirtle Cummings (Madgleane) also of Caneyville and Raymond Cummings of Leitchfield; one sister, Lois Sipes of Caneyville and two grandchildren, Travis Allen and Brittany Allen both of Caneyville. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his three brothers, Glen Cummings, Hesbie Cummings and Junior Cummings.Funeral services will be Thursday, November 6th at 1:00 pm at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville. Bro Edward Cockriel and Bro Neal Carnes will be officiating. Burial will be in the Welches Creek Cemetery.Friends may call at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville Wednesday after 4:00 pm and Thursday from 9:00 am until time of service.
