Rev. Dr. Patrick Edward McDowell, 78, of Glasgow, died Thursday, June 4, 2015 at his home. He was born in Muhlenberg, County the son of the late Melvin Henry McDowell and Mildred Lorraine Hess McDowell. Bro. McDowell was a retired minister in the United Methodist Church and was the former pastor of First United Methodist Church in Glasgow. He was a HAM radio operator, a scholar and a loving father to his children and a loving husband to his late wife, Peggy Childers McDowell. He was also preceded in death by a son, Eric Kendall McDowell. He is survived by 2 sons Mark Edward McDowell (Erin) of Louisville and Everett Lawrence McDowell of Glasgow; 2 daughters Eileen Stockham (Jeff) of Somerset, KY and Lorri McComb (Tom) of Gallatin, TN; 7 grandchildren Alyona McDowell, Haley, Katherine and J.D. Stockham, and Jonathan, Nate and Ben McComb; 2 sisters Carol Lee Greenwood (James) of Alvaton and Margaret Ann Gipson (Johnny) of Central City; brothers-in-law Robert Sotsky (George Anne, deceased), Larry Childers (Nancy) and Frank Childers (Jean) all of Louisville and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2pm Monday, June 8th at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 1pm until 6pm and Monday from 11am until time for services. Expressions of sympathy may be made to: First United Methodist Church 500 S.
