Paul Edward Greer of Glasgow, KY, passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2019. He was born in Etoile, KY on June 9, 1926. He was a retired maintenance supervisor at ICF State Hospital in Glasgow. He served in the army in WWII in the 82nd airborne division. He was assigned to the glider division where he rode gliders down behind the enemy lines in Germany. He also stood guard at Hitler's headquarters in Germany after the war had ended. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Wilma Elmore Greer; parents, Eugene and Maude (Underwood) Greer; brothers, John Greer, Stanley Greer and William Greer; sisters, Mary Francis Elliot, Tress Garrett, and Imogene Button. Survivors include his daughter, Paula Kingrey (Larry) of Glasgow, KY; grandchildren, Amy Wright (Mitch), Bowling Green, Ashley Bowles, Glasgow, Matt Kingrey (Shira), Nashville; great grandchildren, Taylor Buckles, Bowling Green, Hunter Bowles, Lousiville, Tanner Bowles, Tusculoosa, AL, Payton and Chloe Wright, Bowling Green; sister, Bess Williams, Glasgow; brother, Billy Greer (Ann), Glasgow; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Thursday, November 14th at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home. Visitation will be 10:00 AM until time for services Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home is both honored and privileged to be entrusted with the care of Mr. Greer.
