Phyllis Gardner

Phyllis June Gardner 73 of Cave City died Thursday, December 8, 2016 at her home. Mrs. Gardner was the daughter of the late Herman Berlin Short and Carrie Mae Pennycuff Short. She was a retired school teacher having taught in the Park City, Hiseville and the Barren County Middle school. Mrs. Gardner was a director for Barren County Farm Bureau and had served as chairman of the Barren County Farm Bureau Women. She was a member of Little Bethel Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband Malcolm Gardner; 2 sons Mike Gardner and wife Robin of Mayfield, KY and Stephen Gardner of Sterling, VA; 2 grandchildren Danielle and Christopher Gardner and a brother Phillip Short of Rocky Hill in Edmonson County. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday, December 12th at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Cave City Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1:00 Sunday. The family would like to thank T. J. Samson Hospice and all of the caregivers for their care and compassion shown to June and us these last several years of her illness
