Polly C. Schlotman, age 91, of Marietta GA, unexpectedly passed away on October 12, 2015. Memorial Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 17, 2015 at First Presbyterian Church of Marietta. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and wife. She is survived by her son, John J. Schlotman, Jr. and his wife, Lesley Schlotman; son-in-law, Patrick Clayton; grandchildren, Haley Schlotman, Katie Schlotman, Nicholas Clayton and his wife, Kristi Clayton, Paul Clayton and his wife, Megan Clayton. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Julien Schlotman, Sr., daughter, Laura Schlotman Clayton, and her sister Sara Jane Willis. Polly was born on July 7, 1924 in Leitchfield, KY to the late David Russell Cannon and Laura Belle Cannon. She graduated from Christian College in Columbia Mo. She married her husband on January 9th, 1944 while he was on leave from World War II. She was a steadfast member of First Presbyterian Church of Marietta and a founding member of John Knox Presbyterian Church of Marietta. During the 70's, 80's and 90's she was a real estate agent for Northside Realty serving hundreds of clients in the Marietta area. She was recognized within the real estate community for achieving sales targets. She was well known for her strength, outgoing nature, and sense of humor. She was an avid University of Kentucky basketball fan. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 16, 2015 at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta. Visitation will be from 11:00 - 12:00 p.m. on Monday, October 19, 2015 at Watson Hunt Funeral Home in Leitchfield, KY with a Graveside Services following at Thomas Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Marietta, 189 Church Street, Marietta GA 30060.
