Rachel Lee McGuire Garrett

Rachel Lee McGuire Garrett, 78, of Glasgow, passed away at the Shanti Niketan Hospice Home on Monday, January 6, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on June 10, 1946, in Tompkinsville, Kentucky to the late Willie E. Strode and the late Nina Pearl Huff Strode. Rachel was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 16 years, Kenneth Wayne Garrett; son, Preston Lee McGuire (Diane); daughter, Renona Thomas (Hershel); step children, Leonetta Cook (Billy), Diane Gentry (Ronnie), Johnathen Garrett (Lisa Hammer), and Daniel Garrett (Kylie); grandchildren, Nicholas Thomas, Brian Thomas ( Mika), TJ Thomas (Michelle), Ashley McGuire, and Kasandra Perkins; great grandchildren, Rory Thomas and Hagan Thomas; step grandchildren, Michele Combs, Chasity Munoz, Henry Thomas, Carmen Conner, Caitlyn Sims (Stephen), Brandon Owen (Billie Jean), and Justin Gentry (Katie), Jesse Garrett (Sydney), Joshua Garrett (Rachel), and Sarah Garrett; step great grandchildren, Caleb Hayes, Nolan Garrett, Levi Garrett, Elizabeth Garrett, James Thomas Owen, Jalissa Owen, Cayden Conner, Jasper Conner, Ada Conner, and Taylor Spears; and a very special caregiver, Linda Houchens.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ronnie Steve McGuire; and brothers, Hartsell Strode and Harold Strode.
The Funeral Service for Rachel will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, January 11, 2025, at A.F. Crow and Son Funeral Home with burial in the Hiseville Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Friday, January 10, 2025, from 11:00 AM until 8:00 PM and after 8:00 AM, Saturday at the funeral home.
