Raymond Smith

Raymond Carroll Smith 84 of Cave City, KY died Thursday, September 06, 2012 at the NHC Healthcare Facility. Born in Barren Co. he was the son of the late Leonard & Pearlie Mae Thomas Smith. Mr. Smith was a retired farmer and a lifelong member of the Basil Chapel United Baptist Church where he also served as a Trustee. Survivors include his wife of 63years Aline Coomer Smith of Cave City; a daughter Carol Burchett (Phil) of Bowling Green, KY; a son Steve Smith of Cave City, KY; 4 grandsons Brad Coomer of Indianapolis, IN, Dr. Jason Coomer (Sara) of Cave City, KY, Chase Smith and Tanner Smith both of Bowling Green, KY; 3 great grandchildren Mattie, Julia & Hayden Coomer; 4 sisters Delcie Britt (Bobby) of Glasgow, Doris Ward (B. J.) of Cave City, Jennie Wilson of Cave City and Shirley Doyle of Cave City; 2 brothers J. B. Smith (Doris) and Buford Smith both of Cave City; a brother-in-law Cortez Coomer of Cave City; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Olean Coomer, a brother Orville Smith (Lorene), a sister-in-law Genell Smith and 2 brothers-in-law Walter Wilson & Royndal Doyle. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Sunday, September 9, 2012 at the Basil Chapel United Baptist Church with burial in the Cave City Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4:00pm Saturday and Sunday from 8:00am until 1:30pm at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorial contributions to the Basil Chapel Church Flower Fund or the National Stroke Association.
