Raymond Smith

Raymond R. Smith 94 of Glasgow, KY died Saturday Sept. 17th at Metcalfe Co. Nursing Facility in Edmonton. He was born in Monroe County the son of John Thomas and Martha Ann Robinson Smith. He was a former supervisor with the Ford Motor Company in Flint, MI before retiring and moving back to Barren County. He was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Survivors include: 2 sons Harold Duane Smith and wife Dessie of Tennessee, Billy Smith and wife Mary of Michigan; a daughter in law Andrea Smith of Oak Harbor, WA; 6 grandchildren Billy Jr., Michael, Kim, Andrea, Doug and Michael Smith; 2 sisters Clarine Valencia of Springfield, IL and Hazel Swartz of Chicago, IL; a sister in law Louise Smith of Okalahoma; and several nieces and nephews including Martha Dickson, Sherry Gillock, Judy Lindsey, J.C. Smith, Ronnie Reynolds and Roger Reynolds of Glasgow; his caregiver Betty Carol Spencer and family of Glasgow. He was preceded in death by his wife Geneva Shipman Smith; a son Ricky Smith; sisters Beatrice Borders, Gladys Reynolds, Olene Kelsey, Pernie Kinslow, Virgie Martin and Maurice Smith and brothers Herbert, Perry, and Thomas B. Smith. Funeral services will be 11:00am Tuesday Sept. 20th at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be after 4:30pm Monday at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of memorial contributions to either Josh's Friends, 126 Hidden Forrest, Glasgow, KY 42141 or the Michael Smith Education Fund, 1799 Robertson Dr. S.W., Oak Harbor, WA 98277.
