Rebecca Richardson

Rebecca Frances Richardson 85 of Eighty-Eight, KY died on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at NHC Healthcare in Glasgow. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Brents Richardson. Rebecca was born in Barren County and was the daughter of the late Riley R. and Vera Matthews Barbour. She joined Poplar Spring Missionary Baptist Church after her conversion at an early age and after her marriage in 1946, she joined Beech Grove Missionary Baptist Church at Eighty-Eight where she faithfully attended and served as a Sunday school teacher and secretary for many years. Rebecca attended WKU and taught at the Eighty-Eight school until her marriage after which she actively participated with Brents, Paul and Eva Richardson and Robert and Nina Richardson in the family business, Richardson Bros. at Eighty Eight until their retirement in 1986. In addition to her husband, she is survived by 2 brothers Omar L. Barbour (Betty) and Robert Barbour (Loretta) both of Glasgow; 3 sisters Valeria Anderson of Caneyville, Louise Forsythe of Morgantown and Opal Bowles (George) of Clarksville, IN and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister Mary Ida Barbour and 2 brothers-in-law Royce Forsythe and Gordon Ross Anderson. The funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 14th at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Refuge Cemetery at Eighty-Eight. Visitation will be on Friday from 1:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
