Richard Lee Harbison 95 of Glasgow, died Tuesday July 10, 2007 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. He was born in Metcalfe County the son of Edgar and Lora Depp Harbison. He was preceded in death by his wives, Donnally Garmon Harbison and Anne Ferguson Harbison and a son James Richard Harbison. Mr. Harbison was self employed as an agent with the State Farm Insurance Company for over 40 years and was a tobacco and cattle farmer. He was a member, an Elder and former Treasurer of the First Christian Church, a long time member of the Glasgow Rotary Club where he was a Paul Harris Fellow and also was proud to serve Barren County as an election officer for many years. As a U. S. Army veteran of WW II, he served in North Africa, France and in Germany. Survivors include a daughter Betty Jean Cary of Louisville; a son John Stephen Harbison and wife Susan Pilcher of Colchester, Vermont; a brother Rollin Harbison of Summer Shade, KY; 4 grandchildren Mary Haynes (Drew) of Prospect, KY, Jeanne Morsman (David) of Prospect, KY, and Dylan Lea Harbison and Meghan Lynn Harbison of Colchester, VT; 3 great grandchildren Molly Knigge (Scott) and Katie and Sam Morsman; 1 great great granddaughter Madeline Knigge; 2 nephews Eddie and Danny Harbison and special friends Mike Bryant and Sally Nance of Glasgow. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday July 12, 2007 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6:00 PM Wednesday. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorial contributions to the Rotary Scout Camp, 107 Trigg Ct., Glasgow, KY 42141.
