Robert L. McKinney 84 of Glasgow died Saturday, May 1, 2010 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. He was born in Metcalfe County the son of the late James Arthur and Elizabeth Norris McKinney. He graduated from Glasgow High School in 1947. In 1944 he joined the U. S. Army and was a part of Mark Clark's expeditionary forces that freed Italy and Rome during WWII. Mr. McKinney had worked at several jobs after WWII including Bradford Hardware and was a supervisor at Handmacher-Vogel Clothing. He was an insurance salesman in Kentucky, mainly with Globe Life for over 34 years before retiring in 1994. He was of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his wife Marie Martin McKinney; a daughter Sheila McKinney of McKinney, TX; a son Mark Anthony McKinney and wife Cheryl of Frankfort, KY; a grandson Mark Andrew McKinney of Houston, TX and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 8 brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be 11:00am Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at the funeral home
