Robert Mercer

Robert R. Mercer, age 82 of Leitchfield, passed away Sunday, May 11, 2014 at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield. He was born December 31, 1931 in Anneta, KY the son of the late James and Gertie (Scott) Mercer. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his wife, Rose Ann Mercer of Leitchfield, his daughter, Jeanetta King of Leitchfield, two sisters, Julie Mercer Higdon and Wanda Mercer Presley both of Leitchfield, four grandchildren, Elizabeth Allen of Leitchfield, Hannah Nicole Saltsman of Leitchfield, Nancy Rodgers of Eureka, CA, and Robert King of San Diego, CA, two great-grandchildren, Parker Rodgers and Paige Rodgers both of Eureka, CA. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Allen, a brother, Loyd Mercer, two sisters, Edna Mercer Cook and Pearlie Mercer Decker, and one great-grandson, Tylor Rodgers. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, (May 13, 2014) at the Watson & Hunt Funeral Chapel in Leitchfield with Bro. Clarence Albert Flake officiating. Burial will be in the Walter Cook Cemetery in Leitchfield. Visitation will be held on Monday after 4:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
