Robert Franklin 'Shorty' Riddle 76 of Glasgow died Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Baptist Health Hospice in Madisonville, KY. The Barren County native was the son of the late Erby and Delia Byrd Riddle. Shorty was a licensed livestock dealer and was employed at Ben & Elmer Tractor for 17 years, and NAPA Auto Parts for 10 years. He was the owner and operator of a Sinclair Service Station, established Riddle Upholstery, owned a motorcycle shop and was a dealer for HY-Ration dog food throughout Barren County. In addition to being a businessman he was a farmer and the owner of Riddle Trailer Court. He was well loved and loved everyone he met. Mr. Riddle was baptized at Siloam Baptist Church and had faithfully attended South Green St. Church of Christ until his illness. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lula Belle Riddle; his children Freda Riddle Wood (Karl) and Trent Riddle (Donna) both of Glasgow; 3 grandchildren Karl Orry Wood, Sasha Brooke Carter (Kevin) and Trevor Riddle; 3 great-grandchildren Mercedes and Lexi Carter and Kacen Wood; 1 brother David Riddle of Glasgow; 1 sister Shirley Steenbergen of Nicholasville and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers James E. 'Jack' Riddle, Stanley Earl Riddle and Kenneth Riddle, and his sister Betty Sue Madison. Funeral services will be 2pm Friday, July 24th at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will begin at 2pm Thursday.
