Roger Burks

Roger Burks 78 of Glasgow died Tuesday March 21, 2006 at the NHC Health Care Facility in Glasgow. He was born in Monroe County and lived in Glasgow most of his life. He was a farmer and a self employed oil well driller. Mr. Burks was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War and attended the Gethsemane Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 40 years Ida Mae Burks; two step daughters Brenda Owens and Cathy Wallace of Glasgow; one half sister Jean Dunbar of Glasgow; two nieces and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his mother Neva Burks Sherfey and an aunt Delzie Richey. Funeral services will be 10:00am Friday March 24, 2006 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Poplar Log Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at the funeral home.
