Roger Jewell McCoy 88 of Glasgow died Sunday, May 3, 2015 at University of Louisville Hospital. Born in Barren County, Roger was the son of the late Christopher C. and Emma Morgan McCoy. Mr. McCoy was a farmer, a former forest ranger and a deputy sheriff and served as Barren County Sheriff and Barren County Jailer. He was a lifetime member and an Elder of Neal's Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church and was a U. S. Army Air Corp veteran of WWII. He was very active in the Democratic Party and the D.A.V. Chapter 20 Honor Guard. He is survived by his wife of 64 years Wandaline Hoover McCoy; a brother Charlie McCoy (Louise) of Glasgow; a sister Blondell Gibbons of Cave City and several nieces and nephews including special nieces Beverly West (Terry) of Goodlettsville and Amy Parker (Greg) of Glasgow and their children Tyler and Alex West and Austin Parker. He was preceded in death by 5 brothers Sterling, Fred, Owen D., Woodrow and Oliver McCoy and 5 sisters Allie Mae Jolly, Annie Merle Shaw, Irma Witty, Dorothy Owen and Mattie B. Buster. Funeral services will be 1pm Friday, May 8th at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery with military honors provided by D.A.V. Chapter 20 of Glasgow. Visitation will begin at 5pm Thursday and continue Friday morning until time for services. Memorial contributions may be made to D.A.V. Chapter 20 Honor Guard.
