Mr. Roger W. Wiley, 73, of Franklin, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 28, 2023 at 4:32 pm after a lengthy illness. He was born on August 13, 1949 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Mr. Norman R. Wiley and Mrs. Irma J. (Wiseman) Wiley. He graduated from Arsenal Technical High School with the class of 1968. Mr. Roger W. Wiley, 73, of Franklin, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 28, 2023 at 4:32 pm after a lengthy illness. He was born on August 13, 1949 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Mr. Norman R. Wiley and Mrs. Irma J. (Wiseman) Wiley. He graduated from Arsenal Technical High School with the class of 1968. Roger served the children, parents, staff and teachers of Brookside School #54 in the Indianapolis Public Schools as a custodian for twenty-seven and a half years. He retired in 2002. Roger was a member of AFSCME; Local 661, and a 50 year member of Brookside Lodge No. 720 F. & A.M. He enjoyed reading and studying the Bible, attending church services, ballroom dancing, bowling, watching TV, and listing to music of all genres. His favorite holidays were Thanksgiving and Christmas. Roger is survived by his wife, Brenda Gayle Wiley; his son, Andrew "Andy" Wiley and his wife, Clare; his mother - in-law, Geneva G. Morgan; his brother-in-law, Mark A. Morgan; siblings, Judy (Bill) Moore, and Margaret (Steve - deceased) Jacobs; four nieces and one nephew; and several great-nephews and great-nieces. He also has several cousins. He was preceded in death by father-in-law, Edward Morgan; brother-in-law, Edward Douglas Morgan. He was also preceded in death by siblings, John Wiley and Joe Wiley; and niece, Jackie Moore. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2023 from 11:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm at G. H. Herrmann Funeral Home, 5141 Madison Avenue, Indianapolis, IN Roger will be laid to rest at 1:00 PM, Friday, June 2nd, at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Glasgow, Kentucky. A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home has been entrusted with local arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Wiley's name to the Indiana Masonic Home Foundation, Inc., 525 N.
