Ronald Kenton Ward 76 of Glasgow died Saturday, April 12, 2014, at his residence. Born in Barren County he was the son of the late Otto & Sallie Perkins Ward. Mr. Ward was a veteran of the U. S. Army, a former teacher at Glasgow High School and Glasgow Christian Academy, owner of Ronald Ward Trucking and a farmer in Barren County. He was a member and deacon at Calvary Baptist Church where he was actively engaged in the Benevolence Ministry. He was also very active in the Bounty of the Barrens and the Barren County Cattleman's Association. Survivors include his wife of 52 years Shirley Babb Ward of Glasgow; a daughter Rhonda Ward of Santa Fe, NM; two sons Robby Ward of Horse Cave, KY and Randy Ward & wife Holly of Columbus, IN; five grandchildren Melanie Ward, Carson Ward, Sam Ward, Garland Shoop and June Martinez; a brother Reginald Ward & wife Grace of Glasgow; a sister-in-law Thelma Hamilton of Glasgow and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Kyle Ward. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at the Calvary Baptist Church with burial in the Bowles Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2:00pm Monday at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home and on Tuesday from 11:00am until time for the service at the Calvary Baptist Church. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorial contributions to the Calvary Baptist Church Benevolence Fund or Glasgow Christian Academy.
