Roy Powell

Roy Carl Powell 95 of Glasgow, KY died Tuesday night January 31, 2006 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. He was born in Barren County the son of the lage William Hardin Powell and Maggie Bridges Powell. Mr. Powell was a former employee of the Shell Oil Company. He was a member of the Dover Baptist Church at Haywood and was a member of Allen Lodge #24 F&AM. He is survived by a daughter Sue Barbour and husband John of Glasgow; a son Bobby Powell and wife Pam of Florence, KY; two sisters Mabel Jordan and Katherine Bellamy of Glasgow; four grandchildren Derand Hagan of Scottsville, Tonya Leifheit of Florence, KY, Audra Read of Pigeon Forge, TN and Greg Powell of Auburn, KY; 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Earl, Wendell, Billy Joe and Botts Powell. Funeral services will be 11:00am Friday, Feb. 3, 2006 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be after 5:00pm on Thursday.
