Ruby Birge

Ruby Lee Thomerson Birge 88 of Austin, KY died Sunday Feb. 17th at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. She was born in Barren County the daughter of the late Tom and Florence Rigney Houchens. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Jack Thomerson and Travis Birge. Mrs. Thomerson was a homemaker and was a member of the Caney Fork Baptist Church. She is survived by 4 daughters, Phyllis Ballard (Jerry), Susie Smith (Wendell), Nancy Young Nichols and Gladys Sizemore all of Glasgow, 1 son Gary Thomerson of Glasgow; 2 brothers Jack Houchens of Colfax, IL and Henry Houchens of Cocoa, FL; 1 sister Nevada Davis of Indianapolis, IN; 3 step children, 15 grandchildren and several great and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law Dianne Thomerson and two sons-in-law Carl 'Pap' Young and Maxie Nichols and several brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be 11:00am Wednesday February 20, 2008 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Caney Fork Cemetery. Visitation will be after 11:00am Tuesday at the funeral home.
