Ruby Higgs

Ruby Opal Higgs, 99, of Taylorsville, passed away Tuesday, October 13th, 2015 at the Signature Health Care and Rehab in Taylorsville. She was born on Friday, March 3rd, 1916 in Caneyville, the daughter of the late Marion and Zonie (Geary) Willoughby. Ruby was a member of the Caneyville Baptist Church and loved sewing and gardening. Ruby is survived by her daughter, Janice Parr (Gordon) of Mt. Washington; two granddaughters, Loretta Jewell (David) and Anita Montgomery (Dwayne) both of Taylorsville; one grandson, Ronald Parr of Taylorsville; one sister, Thelma Wilson of Caneyville and eight great-grandchildren, Danielle, Ashley, Casey and Brooke Montgomery, Katlyn and Carissa Parr, Cody and Clint Jewell. Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Edney R Higgs and one sister, Josephine Ingram.Funeral services will be Friday, October 16th at 11:00 am CST at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville. Bro David Brown will be officiating. Burial will be in the Layman Memorial Cemetery.Friends may call at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville Thursday from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm CST and Friday from 9:00 am CST until time of service.
